End-of-Life Doulas:

Welcome to Your Community

A place to connect, share and grow

We are a community of EOL Doulas.

We fosters peer connection and knowledge sharing, and we encourage skill-building.

We address the sense of isolation that can accompany this work.

We offer online events for all participants, located everywhere.

We are based around the Greater Boston Area and facilitate in-person connection.

Registration provides access to a supportive network of fellow EOL Doulas.

Not yet an EOL Doula? Perhaps you are wondering about this work. Or working in an adjacent field…

We’d love to hear from you!

Benefits of joining the Doula Guild

Below is the list of events and offerings accessed by joining the Doula Guild

Monthly Pod Gatherings | In Person

  • We gather with fellow EOL Doulas to connect, find support and share ideas.

  • Some Pods organize movie nights, invite special guests, or arrange for workshops or events following members’ lead.

  • Pod Leaders head groups in North of Boston, South of Boston, Boston Center and West of Boston.

Monthly Compass Pod | Online

  • We come together with fellow EOL Doulas, connect, find support and share ideas. This online Pod is intended for Doulas who live beyond the Greater Boston Area and cannot join in person Pods.

  • The Pod leader keeps Doulas informed of upcoming meetings.

Monthly Doula Dialogues | Online

  • We meet online to hear one of our Doulas (or a guest speaker) share insights from their area of expertise.

  • These conversations strengthen our understanding of specialties, deepen connections within our community and provide inspiration for our work.

  • Examples of past Doula Dialogues:

    • Essential Hospice Knowledge for Doulas

    • Unpacking Death Cafes

    • On Grief

    • A Seasoned Doula's Path

    • Making Choices: The Gift of Life and the Gift of Death

    • Your History and Your Doula Practice

    • Between Worlds: A Conversation

    • IFS and Presence as Doulas

    • MAiD in Vermont

Bi-Annual Gatherings | In-Person

  • We gather Guild-wide and connect with Doulas of all pods to mingle in informal settings.

  • These in-person informal events (brunch, meet-up, or other) provide opportunities for unstructured conversations amongst us as a larger group.

Field Trips | In-Person

Ok... our Field Trips may not lead us through the desert, but they are always fascinating! In 2025, we visited Mt Auburn Cemetery and Crematory; what will 2026 bring?

Newsletter | The Fortnightly Echo

On the 1st and 15th of each month, we receive The Fortnightly Echo in our inbox. This newsletter shares reflections, upcoming event reminders and community announcements to help everyone stay connected.

Online Connection

We stay connected online to share event reminders, community announcements, and respond to time-sensitive needs within our community. We have a private group to connect, and we use Facebook as our platform at this time.

Join the Doula Guild

EOL Doulas in our community have engaged in EOL Doula training, and range from those starting out to seasoned Doulas. Some Doulas in our community have been providing end-of-life care through various professions and life-experiences for decades; others arrive here motivated by experience, intuition or passion. While there are currently no universal certification standards in place, most of us have received certification and training. We are an informal group of Doulas connecting because we know that we work better in community.
